Elevoc Smart Microphone Settings doesn’t work anymore (after Windows Driver updates?)

Hello, my “Smart Microphone Settings Powered by Elevoc Vocplus PC” doesn’t work anymore. I was able to switch between “Private Mode”, “Shared Mode” and “Environmental Mode” to adjust how ambient noise is picked up or not.

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ALC6

Since a few days when I start the app and try to switch between modes I get a message “Service connect failed. Please check Elevoc Control Service”.  I checked in “Computer Management / Services” and “Elevoc Control Service” is running.

A few days ago Windows Update performed a few “driver updates”:

  • Elevoc Technology Co., Ltd. – Extension – 1.0.2.90 (could be the component above, which says it’s version 1.0.29.0 …)
  • Elevoc Technology Co., Ltd. – Software Component – 3.0.3.85
  • Elevoc Technology Co., Ltd. – Software Component – 1.0.1.31

Any idea how I could repair this?

Thanks!!

There is a (new?) application that can be found on Microsoft or the Store. It works perfectly as before. When you start it says "Lenovo Smart Noise Cancellation" and has a similar look as before (but background is black rather than white)

Here is the link to find it on Microsoft web or store. When you get to the Microsoft web choose to load it from the store (that's what I did, it's safer apart from anything else)

    https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NPCZP8F4G78

Hope you can make it work again.

    Cheers

Not really, I do not fancy starting to play with all the drivers as suggested above, sometimes one ends up in a worse situation...

It's quite frustrating because it was good to be able to set it particularly when using Zoom...

    Hello georges.2312,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

Is this an external mic you are using or is this an integrated mic?

If this is an integrated mic please mention the brand and model of the laptop it is in.
