My C Drive in "This PC" has just changed and is now showing this

I'm concerned that I might delete important system files by mistake so how can I safely delete items, please?

Hi Dave. I've just had another system alert that my C drive is dangerously close to being full. It's currently showing this

The TreeSize App probably can't help again now so is it possible for me buy increased capacity? If so, how much will it cost? Would it be more cost-effective for me to bite the bullet and buy a Windows 11 laptop?

    Hi again Taffy

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

The first thing to do is run Disk Cleanup twice as explained below, that will remove everything that can be safely deleted from your drive:

    Open File Explorer

    Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab - Disk Tools, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Important - this time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

Click the link below to download a small free utility called Treesize from the Microsoft Store.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/treesize-free...

Very Important - to run TreeSize, you must right click its icon and choose Run as Administrator.

Please provide a screenshot of your C drive in that TreeSize utility, so I can see your hard drive and work out where that space is being used and if there is an underlying problem.

Sorry, Dave but I've only just picked this up. I ran the tree-size App and the screen prints you requested are below.

I couldn't get them all on one snip.

I didn't see an option to right-click its icon and choose Run as Administrator.

    Are these what you need?
