Windows 11 does not go to sleep

I am having an issue with Windows 11 where it will not go to sleep. When I click on Sleep in the start menu the monitors will shut off but the PC will never to go sleep. Then when I wiggle the mouse the monitors will turn back on but are still at my desktop instead of the lock screen. The PC will also refuse to sleep after the designated idle time.

I did a "powercfg -requests" command in the terminal and got the following info.

SYSTEM:

[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\explorer.exe

AWAYMODE:

[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\explorer.exe

Thinking that a service may be causing this I pulled up System Configuration and Disabled all of the services and rebooted. This caused the sleep issue to go away. So through the process of elimination I was able to determine that the service that is responsible for this sleep issue is "Windows Management Instrumentation". So currently I have this service disabled and the Sleep function is working without issues.

Can I please get some advise on how to fix this WMI service so sleep mode can function when this service is enabled? And also in case I don't find a resolution, what exactly does this WMI service do, and what issues will I have by having this service disabled?

Please let me know if I can run any further tests to gather more info.

Thanks

Posting the same "solutions" that have already been tried and did not work is not helping. As I stated I have tried all these steps with NO SUCCESS. Numerous people have posted that they have this issue and the same old tired non working solutions keep getting posted. We need real solutions, not repetitious cookie cutter posts that do not help[.

If you have a wireless mouse installed, this was what was causing my problem. Solution:

    1. Going to Bluetooth and Devices
    2. Scroll down to USB devices
    3. Turn Off USB Battery Saver

    Hi Lester, thanks for replying.

I did methods 1-3 without success.

I had already done method 4 as previously stated. The service in System Configuration that is causing this sleep issue is "Windows Management Instrumentation" If I leave this service disabled, Sleep works without issues. Do you have any advise on how to fix this service?

My Windows 11 desktop does not turn off the screen after the specified time. It also does not go into sleep mode after the specified time. I have tried all the steps suggested in this thread and still not good. I do not have any joy stick or anything like that attached. It used to work that a few months ago it quit. The only thing that happened was routine Windows updates.
