Resolved!! Thank you DaveM121

I am on Insider Program. After doing a cumulative update, a second account appeared on startup screen. Before I was able to boot straight to desktop. Now I must select an account, enter PIN or password depending on which account I select. But no second account appears under users in settings.

Hi William,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Click your Start Button, then just type netplwiz and press Enter.

On the resulting dialog is a check-box to require a password to log into Windows, set that to its opposite setting.

Restart (not shut down) your PC, then go back and set that setting to its original setting, that should remove the ghost account.

This does not solve the kernal problem with th "ghost" user.

As soon as you use netplwiz to enable windows start with no logon the ghost user/account is back.

Dave, you are the man!! Thank you very much. It worked. Is this a glitch in netplwiz ? Such an easy fix, yet Microsoft Tech could not fix it. This is something I will definitely remember in the future.
