For context, this started happening weeks after my system was upgraded to windows 11. I had other issues with it as well so I decided to downgrade to windows 10 but the problem still persisted.
Everytime I launch a game like Apex Legends or Rainbow six siege my wireless driver would disable itself and I won't be able to reconnect to wifi or reenable the driver successfully until I performed a network reset or reset winsock. This has been driving me nuts because I've looked up possible fixes and none of them seem to work. If I manage to get the driver up and running, it would just disable itself the next time I launch a game. It's worth noting that this doesn't happen when I'm only browsing the internet, downloading or watching videos. It just happens with multiplayer games.
My laptop is Asus rog strix g731gu and the wireless driver is Intel wireless ac 9560 160MHz. I've had this laptop for the past 2-3 years.
I'll list the fixes I've tried:
- Troubleshooting network adapters
- Unchecking 'Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power'
- Updating the driver to the latest available version
- Uninstalling the driver and restarting
- typing 'netsh int ip reset' and 'netsh winsock reset' in cmd as adminstrator
- setting WLAN autoconfig to automatic
- Network reset
Any help is greatly appreciated
