Why does everyone assume that people want to boost the bass. The bass is way too loud compared to the treble. I want to lower the bass for the output to the computer speaker.

I gave up looking in Windows and turned to the world wide web. Found a terrific, free, app called "FxSound" that installed painlessly and lets me adjust multiple bands easily. Fergetabout Microsoft, they aren't listening (<-- see what I did there?).

Same problem here. Deaf in one ear, barely hear out of the other. Very frustrating and seems it would be an accessibility issue that MS dropped the ball on. HELLO Microsoft, there are hearing impaired users that NEED to be able to adjust bass down and treble up (in most cases) to be able to understand what is being said!

Seems MS dsq'd their Windows Equalizer and replaced it with...nothing. Some 3rd party stuff online, not convinced they are engineered for W11 and the Realtec "fixes" don't work on my machine. One year old HP Envy, 1tb SSD/32meg RAM.

This strikes me as an Accessibility issue- I hope MS says "oops" and gets on it quickly.

Right click Speaker icon > Sound settings > More sound settings > Playback tab > Right click your device > Properties. Depending on your device your can find Spatial sound, etc. and with Speakers sound controls you may find an Enhancements tab for Bass boast, Virtual Sound, Room Correction. etc.

You may find better sound controls with software that comes with your device such as with Dell PCs you get the Dell Audio Controls. Type the word audio into the Start menu and see what comes up.
