Game seemingly uninstalled itself. Is there anyway to get it back?

So today when I tried to open I game I had recently just played, it said that it was installed, but wouldn't open. I looked through my files and found that the entire game had been moved from where I installed it into the WindowsApps folder. The entire game is still here, but has been moved into these separate folders. Is there any way to get it back, or do I have to reinstall?

Hello, I was able to find a solution. Previously I was using the Xbox app to launch the game, but it works now by launching from Microsoft store. Thanks for the help.

    Hi Hamzi,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you downloaded that game from the Microsoft Store, then it would be installed into the WIndowApps folder, that is the location for Store apps and games, did you set that in the storage settings in the Settings app to install all new content to the D drive?

The WindowsApps folder is a highly protected folder, that should not be accessible and changing permissions on that folder to access its contents usually stops the apps in that folder form working.

Open the Settings App, then go to Apps, scroll down to find that game and select it.

Click Advanced Options and select the option to reset or repair that game.

    Does the game then work?
