I am having the same problem but with an HP Laptop that I just bought a few months ago. I do not have a Bitlocker Recovery Key. I was never given one, there is not one listed on my Microsoft account. I never activated Bitlocker. I did not even know what it was. On Saturday I let my computer do updates and then restarted. Since then I have not been able to access my computer because I do not have a recovery key. This is something that Microsoft has done to my computer. How can I get my computer to come on?
Help!!! I can't find my BitLocker Recovery Key!
After my ASUS VivoBook laptop updated Windows 11, when I turn it on, I see a blue screen telling me that I need a "BitLocker Recovery Key" to unlock my laptop. I have no clue what that is, but I looked for it. It's not in my Microsoft account associated with my laptop (I got this message: "You don't have any BitLocker recovery keys uploaded to your Microsoft account"); it's not on a USB drive; it's not printed out; it's not on an Azure Active Directory Account; and I have no system administrator. How am I going to get this Recovery Key to unlock my laptop? This is *not* fun. Somebody needs to change this -- and fast.

2022-12-08T23:07:34+00:00 So basically microsoft causes the problem and refuse to give a solution.
Like I stated I never loged into my microsoft accoubt on this pc it was only used locally. I refuse to format the pc.
This is a microsoft issue that they should resolve without a system wipe.
Do better microsoft!!!!!!

2022-08-29T16:50:48+00:00 Thank you! I did what you said. I got to the BIOS Utility and found the Security settings. Secure Boot was, and is, enabled. But every time I start my laptop, I'm still being asked for a BitLocker Recovery Key, and I don't have one. It's not anywhere -- on my OneDrive, etc. What should I do? Thanks for your help!

2022-08-29T02:29:31+00:00 Hello Leah,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
When you see a page that prompts you to enter the Bitlocker reply key, your computer's secure startup Settings have been changed. You can access the BIOS page after restarting the computer (for Asus Vivobook, press the Del key on the keyboard to access the BIOS page), find the security Settings page in the BIOS, and check whether the "Secure Boot" function is enabled. Make sure it's turned on and then save the Settings exit the BIOS and restart the computer to see if you can skip Bitlocker validation.
If Secure Boot is enabled, in addition to the channel you've already tried to view the Bitlocker key, you can also access OneDrive on your phone to see if you have a backup of the recovery key in your OneDrive.
Please feel free to let me know if you got any further updates, thanks.
