Bamboo Ink and Win 11

New Bamboo Ink stylus is not recognized under Add Devices of BlueTooth & Devices in Settings even when I toggle the protocols by pressing and holding its 2 buttons for 2 seconds. And it does not matter what I choose for kind of device (Bluetooth or Everything else). I purchased a new laptop, the HP Pavilion x360 15.6" er1008. Since Wacom tested this stylus for many HP brands under Win 10, could it be that Win 11 is at fault ?

    Hi Floozy_me,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

According to the support manual for the device available here : http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07014193.pdf

Only these stylus are supported by your device :

    Active pen, Sunwoda 910942-001

    Zenvo Pen with cable L95614-001

HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen (Black) and (silver)

On further compatibility check Only two models of Wacom stylus is supported by the Pavilion series which is Bamboo Ink and Ink plus (this stylus too does not have tilt support on pavilion series) On top of that only two variants of pavilion x360 are supported by these pens i.e. HP Pavilion x360 14-ba000 and HP Pavilion x360 15-br000.

er1008 model is not compatible with any of bamboo ink stylus.

Thank you Elise but the Wacom drivers are not compatible with my HP model. When I try to open the driver installer I get a message like this cannot be done as it is not a tablet PC. The Wacom page states that indeed only the Windows Inbox driver can support a Bamboo pen. My model supports the Microsoft Pen Protocol which I select by pressing and holding the pen's 2 buttons for 2 seconds . However like I say, the pen is not discoverable and even though it can draw under software Krita, I don't have pressure sensitivity even if I enabled it by dragging the icon Use Pen Pressure onto the task bar. I never owned a Win 10 PC so that assuming the feature was working on it, perhaps Win 11 has a bug.

    Regards

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

It is most likely that newer drivers for the device are needed to run under Windows 11. Often you can download these from the device manufacturer website if available.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise

Thank you so much, Jaspreet, for taking the time to find the exact pen models compatible with my laptop. I will investigate their specs and choose which one to purchase. I am glad I returned the Bamboo Ink and got my money back. Kindest regards.
