Windows 10 laptop won't connect wireless to Samsung Smart TV

I've searched through other threads on here with similar issues and did some basic troubleshooting like checking for out-of-date drivers on my laptop and whatnot and still can't get this to work. My laptop running Windows 10 and Samsung UN55MU6290 TV are both on the same wi-fi network but I can't get them to connect to mirror my laptop screen on the TV screen. Initially when I first started playing around with this last month my TV was showing up on my Devices screen but didn't pop up when it was searching for available devices after clicking both the Project and Connect options under Action Center. As of yesterday my TV is now showing up in the list and is at least attempting to connect but gives up after a minute or two with an error saying that it couldn't. I'm seeing the connecting message pop up for a few seconds on my TV screen as well and my laptop is now added to my allowed devices list on the Samsung which it wasn't doing previously but they're still not making a connection with each other. My Samsung Galaxy S8 phone connects to this TV with no issue and my laptop connects to my LG Smart TV in the living room instantly so I'm not understanding why it can't connect to the Samsung TV as well?

Thank you. The only thing out of all these articles that seemed to get me any results was a comment from someone who said they got theirs working by disabling their antivirus firewall. I turned off my Avast firewall temporarily and my laptop was then able to connect to the smart TV and project the laptop screen. Now I just need to figure out if there's an option somewhere in Avast's antivirus settings to grant permission for this Samsung TV to be connected wirelessly with my laptop without disabling the firewall since I have no issue connecting to my LG TV with the firewall enabled?

Okay, so apparently one of those tips I tried before DID end up working out for me as I now seem to be able to connect before I even had a chance to mess around with Avast settings. May have been the router or network settings reset on my TV I did just now that helped clear this up as well but it does work now. Thanks!
