Windows Security says "There is no TPM available. Please check BIOS settings."

Windows Security is saying TPM isn't available, yet when I went into BIOS (Gigabyte) it says secure boot is enabled and being used. I looked some things up on Google and tried 'TPM.MSC' and it says there is no TPM available. The other thing I tried says to check DISK 0 in diskmgmt and it has the option that says TPM 2.0 is available/being used. Is Windows Security being weird or did it disable itself? I didn't have this problem yesterday that I'm aware of.

    Hello Tvtim,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

You may enable TPM 2.0 in BIOS.

    1. Restart your computer and press Deletebutton to enter BIOS.
    2. Go to the Settings tab.
    3. Use the keyword’s up/down keys to select Miscellaneous option.
    4. Expand **Intel Platform Trust Technology(PTT)**and select Enable.
    5. Save settings and exit BIOS.

    For some other Gigabyte motherboards:

    1. Restart your computer and press Deletebutton to enter BIOS
    2. Go to the Peripherals tab.
    3. Use the keyword’s up/down keys to select Trusted Computing option.
    4. Expand Security Device Supportand choose Enable.
    5. Save settings and exit BIOS.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

A restart did not help. Checked the ASUS BIOS setting for TPM and it was enabled.

Updating my BIOS from 2601 to 2602 (last October to this January) ended up fixing it, it is no longer showing a TPM issue. Not sure what changed this past weekend to affect that, but mine is no longer showing the issue.

Well fun, updated to Windows 22H2 and now it's back claiming there is no TPM available. Something in Windows certainly seems off with its TPM detection code.

Same here, everything had been fine, then within the last couple of days the warning icon appeared on the Windows Security icon in the taskbar, and the Security Dashboard shows the warning and "There is no TPM available." on Device Security. I will restart the computer soon to see if that changes anything, I usually just let it sleep.

    My motherboard is ASUS.

I have the same issue. This just happened to me today...9/28/22. I have an iBuyPower gaming computer.

    Computer Information:

    Device name RedGamingComp

Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics 3.90 GHz

Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)

    Device ID 6F7AEEE9-D5BB-4CEC-9765-0D955BAFCDD0

    Product ID 00326-10000-00000-AA282

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

    Edition Windows 11 Home

    Version 21H2

    Installed on ‎1/‎23/‎2022

    OS build 22000.978

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.978.0

    Manufacturer iBUYPOWER

    Phone 1-888-618-6040

Considering that it seems to be happening to different types of systems, it makes it look like a Windows 11 issue.
