Both Left and Right CTRL keys are not working on my laptop keyboard

Laptop was just open, left CTRL key was not working, despite that everything was fine a couple hours before.

Tried to restart the laptop, to update the keyboard drivers.

CTRL key is working on the Ease-Of-Use desktop keyboard - after I saw that, I also tried to use the right CTRL which was also not working.

All other keys seem to work fine.

I have windows 10. The laptop is not from Microsoft, it is an Asus ROG.

What would be possible solutions?

Many thanks!!

    Hi Pomparau.

    I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Run Keyboard troubleshooter:

    1. Open Start and select "Settings > Update & Security";
    2. In the left panel, select "Troubleshoot";
    3. Select "Additional Troubleshooters";
    4. Select "Keyboard" and click "Run Troubleshooter".

    If it persists, reinstall the keyboard driver:

    1. Open "Device Manager" (Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager);
    2. Expand "Keyboards";
    3. Right-click on the keyboard and select "Uninstall Device";

    (If it doesn't have the keyboard name, it will probably be "HID Keyboard Device")

    1. Restart your PC and see if the issue is resolved.

    If it persists, perform a clean boot to see if any third-party program in the background is causing this problem. Follow the instructions carefully.

    If the problem does not occur after a clean boot. In this same article, there is a technique to help you identify which program is causing this in "How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot".

    After finding the cause or if it does not help, return to normal boot as instructed in "Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting".

    Feel free to ask back any questions.
