How come my PC randomly started acting very weird and extremely slow?

Today I let my brother use my computer and everything was fine. Then when I came back upstairs like 30 min later, my apps were scattered around my desktop and everything was slow, like VERY SLOW. I tried restarting and stuff but it still isn’t fixed. I don’t know if I have a virus or what but it’s too slow to open apps I think. My pc isn’t even a year old and this has never happened before. Please help

Edit: just realized cpu is at 100% with nothing running and I’m trying to scan the pc but windows security won’t even open.

Thanks for the reply. Did you install or uninstall any Third-party antivirus or malware remover? If yes, Fully uninstall it using their uninstall tool.

If you did not install any third-party antivirus, most likely there might be corruption causing the Windows security error. Please proceed with the given suggestions.

The thing is, I can’t even open windows security to run a scan. It pops up that it’s opening and then it just goes away.

We don't know what your brother did.

If you think your computer might have a virus, you should use a virus scanner, like the one built into Windows: Start > Windows Security > Virus and threat protection > Current threats

He was on a sports website making highlights for his football team then he just closed it out. He’s done it before too.
