Question about IPv4 & IPv6 detail i noticed when checking my network

I was just looking at a detailed list of my wifi connection setup and i noticed that where the IPv4 & 6 details were listed, next to both in parentheses it said unencrypted. Should i be concerned about that & if so how would i go about encrypting those? Does that just encrypt the IP addresses each time they're connected to or is it encrypting more than that? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks 🙂

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

I think you might be referring to encrypted dns, by being unencrypted (which is common) it means that someone could in theory intercept a list of websites you are visiting. Not the data of the transfer just the website address visited.

You can setup this up as encrypted, here is a guide for doing that:

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
