Technically Chrome uses a lot of RAM and bandwidth compared to other browsers. As I have a lot of tabs opened in a single window , how can I still reduce the RAM usage without deleting the tabs. I have posted a question and tried to provide innovative solution to google products , yet the above specifications of chrome have not reduced despite its launching of newer versions for desktop, laptops and mobile.

Hi Arjit. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Here are fixes for Chrome high RAM and Network usage:

If none of those work then

    1. Sign into Chrome sync to save your bookmarks and passwords online easily accessed anywhere by signing into Chrome:
    2. Next empty the Chrome cache:

    1. Reset Chrome following this guide:

    https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-reset-google-ch...

    1. If that doesn't fix it then do a clean reinstall of Chrome:

Right click empty area of Task bar to open Task manager.

    If necessary show More Details

Under "Processes," look for "Google Chrome" or "chrome.exe."

Click it, then click End process.

Next uninstall Chrome in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features. Restart PC.

Then go into C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (86) to find the Google folder and delete the Chrome Folder.

You may need to Take Ownership first using this handy tool that will install to your right click mouse button: https://www.askvg.com/add-take-ownership-option...

On the View tab of File Explorer then tick Hidden Files, open C:\Program Data to do the same.

Go into Start > Windows Settings (gear icon) > Apps > Apps & Features > Google Chrome > Uninstall.

Restart PC, reinstall Chrome from fresh download here: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Thanks for the solutions you have provided.

I have performed some troubleshooting steps to reduce RAM usage and so it has worked fine.

I have also used a feature called " efficiency mode" , that helps to reduce the memory usage and bandwidth usage of a specific tab in chrome.

Since I have 3300 tabs opened in chrome at this moment , the browser and my laptop r not lagging at all .
