After upgrade to windows 11, My laptop battery does not get charged while in use. I can see plug in mode is just disappeared.

  1. Battery will charge only, when battery is completely drained off, and power gets shut down.

So one recharge, I have to wait to get it completely Off, then wait for recharge and so on.

This happening with my Two laptop after update.

I would like to notify that

  1. My Drivers are updated
  2. I tried uninstalling/updating battery driver.
  3. I have observed when I remove battery, plug in mode will get activated and work as normal laptop. As soon as I add charged battery, Plugin mode gets disappear and it starts running on battery.
  4. My charger is working fine on another laptop.
  5. I have formatted my laptop with new Windows 11, but the problem remains same.
  6. I have run the battery report, I see an issue regarding "Connected Standby" Which iI guess appeared after upgrade, Thats why it is not identifying charge when on battery mode, As soon as battery is drained, After some time, it will get start charging.

Microsoft Community please help. Laptop became desktop due to not charging while in plugin mode on Battery.

    I must call your bluff.

I have a MSI GF75 that came with Win 10. Battery charged properly and everything worked fine. I upgraded to the Win 11 when the annoying pop up kept popping up, and low-and-behold, exactly what Rajeev mentions happened to my brand new laptop. So I followed all your steps. And nothing got the battery to charge while plugged in. So I went BACK to Windows 10 using a flash drive with the OS on it since Microsoft disabled my option to return to Win10. And what do you know? The battery starts charging correctly.

Fast forward to yesterday and Win 11 was forced onto my laptop (same laptop a year later), and it installed. Guess what? The battery will not charge while plugged in.

This is most DEFINITELY a Windows problem, and Rajeev is correct, Microsoft must do something about this issue.

I have the problem after the recent windows 11 update. My laptop which is less than a year old, cannot charge via the power plug. I can only charge it via the usb port. That is what I am trying to do for now.

I hope Microsoft releases a fix for this.

It is not about quick draining. Laptop is note getting charged after update.

It will charge or detect power only when battery is 0% or will get shut down due to lack of power.

Well links above mentioned is not the solution. My both laptops started giving same issue.

    1. I have done all the works mentioned in all links, but all is in vain.
    2. I have also formatted laptop and installed new Window, but problem remains same.

I hope @microsoft will give us solution quickly on it, as my works is getting hampered due to this issue.

I have to wait to get my laptop fully drained so that i can recharge it again for now.
