Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.
You can safely delete the content of the backup folder using file explorer directly, just need to keep the empty backup folder to avoid any error on the iTunes or iCloud sync.

Hi,
I'm trying to free up space in my C drive, and as per a few other recommendations from other threads I downloaded treeSize to see what was taking up the most space. I can see the files under apple/mobilesync/backup are taking up the most space - around 36GB. I went to delete the backup on iTunes as per a few other recommendations in other threads but on my itunes it says there's no backup to be deleted? I don't use my PC to backup my phone so I'm okay to delete the backup folder just in file explorer but I want to check before I potentially cause a problem. Is it okay to delete the folder in file explorer or is there another way to delete the backup the correct way?
Thanks in advance,
Kelly
