Wireless Network Adapter disappeared from Device Manager after downgrade to Windows 10

I recently bought a new ASUS ROG laptop; it came with windows 11, which was completely unusable for me (as Davinci Resolve will not run on it). I did not realize this fully within the 10 day allotment that you get to easily downgrade to Windows 10. So, I just installed windows 10 from a USB stick, via the tool from the Microsoft website. I got basically everything up and running, except my wi-fi adapter is no longer showing up in Device Manager, even when I enable "show hidden devices."

I've gone through every solution I can find online, like suggestions to reset all kinds of settings via command prompt. Nothing works...incidentally, I was having problems with my wireless adapter randomly disappearing even on win11. The only thing that worked for that was "unplug everything, including power; press and hold the power button, continue for 60s after the computer turns off; this will reset the network card" and this does not work now with the win10 setup.

Lots of suggestions online to update drivers, but I can't really do that if the adapter is not even showing up in Device Manager, correct? Ethernet connection is working fine.

Does anyone know what a fix might be? Can't find any results anywhere for windows 10 that specifically mention downgrading from windows 11 and having such an issue. Completely stumped. Happy to answer any questions if more information is needed!

It was nothing, it's a pleasure to be able to try to help you.

It really is a driver issue, I advise you to go to the manufacturer's website and search for your laptop model.

Download all drivers supported by this laptop for Windows 10.

For WiFi, try the one from the link below, please download and install it and check if the problem persists.

The link you gave didn't work, but I managed to find my model on the ASUS website thanks to your help, and downloaded+installed the drivers they listed. It works now.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the prompt response. Here are the relevant screenshots. I can also share the system information from below the cut line, but it doesn't look like there's anything relevant in there.
