Misleading:Win32/Lodi
Misleading:Win32/Lodi.
Despite trying everything I have read on the site I cannot seem to remove this item.
Windows security indicates it has found it and describes it as Low Risk. I have looked for the file path shown but that is not on my PC.
I have run several scans including an offline ones and Win Security is still finding it.
Is there anything else I can do to get rid of it.

2022-09-21T07:21:18+00:00 Hello Time Lady.
Thanks for replying. I have found that this relates to a programme VLC Media player. I had that on my old PC but uninstalled it. Now I could be wrong (I am not experienced in this) but I think this Misleading:Win32/Lodi might have come across when I transferred the stuff from my old one to my new one. I simply copied my C drive to a USB drive and then pasted on to the new PC.
Despite it being shown as a low risk a search on my C drive does not find it. I went ahead and allowed it to install and did another search of the C drive which found two empty files named Misleading:Win32/Lodi. I deleted them and did a restart and another search and they were not found. I also emptied my recycle bin. I have done several offline scans as well so I think the issue is resolved but I’ll keep an eye on things just in case.

2022-09-20T11:01:16+00:00 Hello, I’m Virginia, I have 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.
Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems.
A pup/pum is a potentially unwanted program & while not malware it may be a program/app which you didn’t intend to install as it came bundled with wanted software.
The file was blocked from installing so if you wish to install it you need to choose the allow option then install the program.
Try running these programs:
MBAM free: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/ ensure scan for rootkits is enabled.
Eset online scanner: http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
Adwcleaner: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/
Also check the router to see if there are any unknown connections:

If nothing is found then the program was blocked by Defender.
If these find one or more infections but do not fully remove them it will be wise to register with a malware removal site to receive dedicated malware removal instructions, an expert will remain with you throughout the process until confirmation that your PC is 100% clean.

2022-09-19T10:26:01+00:00 Palcouk and Paul Navera,
Thanks for replying but I'm afraid your suggestions did not work. I used the Malware bytes as suggested and ran it but after doing so the file is still flagged as found. Something I do not understand.
Window Security under File History shows the file as found and Low Risk It gives a date as 1 May 2022 and clicking on it shows a file path that does not exist on my PC. There is also the wording:
"To install this potentially unwanted app anyway, select Actions>Allow on device then try to reinstall"
So is this file on my PC?
Or is it on my PC somewhere waiting to be installed?
It seems to relate to a Free Video to DVD Converter 5.0.99.823 and online that is offered by a website AfterDawn in the form of VLC Media Player. I do not have it on my PC.
I should say I am not very technically minded.
