Hello, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this problem. What is the exact model of the monitor? But if the monitor supports the 1080p resolution most likely the issue is caused by the graphics driver, display settings, or can be a display/hdmi cable problem.
- Rollback or Reinstall the graphics drivers.
Press Windows Key + X
select Device Manager
Expand Display Adapter
select your Graphics Card
then roll back the driver.
If the rollback option is greyed out, Uninstall the driver
then restart your computer.
Open Windows Update then click check for update.
This will download and reinstall the needed display drivers,
Or download the latest driver from the manufacturer's support website.
Install the driver and restart your computer.
Then try to check if the resolution is already listed in the Display Settings.
- Check the display settings.
Right-click on your desktop background
Select Display settings.
And under "Choose Display"
select the monitor on the list
Under Display Information
Click the Display Adapter properties for Display
Click Adapter Tab
Click List All modes
From the list select the monitor's native resolution and supported refresh rate of the monitor
Scroll down then select Advance display settings.
Ensure that the refresh rate matches the monitor's supported refresh rate.
- If that didn't work. Try using another display/hdmi cable.
