Clean install with windows media creation tool and a usb.
Mouse freezing/jumping seemingly randomly or when my mouse is moved too quickly.
So as the title suggests, for about a week now ive been having frequent mouse freezing/jumping
whether im just browsing or playing a game. The only thing that seems to make it worse is high resource usage say while playing a game etc.
Ive tried: Using a different mouse, unplugging my second monitor, removing the mouse from device manager, updating drivers, clean booting, reseating everything in my computer, using a different monitor, testing both test mice on different computers (they had no issues), testing different games (same issue), checking if the issue happened in bios (no), and lastly clean installing windows 10
all to no avail.
The pc is around 2 years old, I haven't changed anything inside of it when the problem came up.
Video showing the issue: https://streamable.com/9yab40
my specs:
RX 580 8GB
i3 10100
B460 Aorus Pro
16gb 2666mhz DDR4 ram
500W PSU

2022-11-09T07:42:10+00:00 Hi Kai. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

- Try all other ports on the PC, often the front and back will have different USB controllers
- Change the batteries if wireless, try another USB port, reset mouse from button on bottom if available.
- Is there mouse software installed in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features? Uninstall it to see if the problem stops. This is unneeded bloatware.
- Adjust the mouse settings in Settings > Devices > Mouse, checking all settings including the Additonal Mouse Options box - check Settings on all tabs.
- Try disabling Mouse acceleration:

- Compare the install you did with this gold standard Clean Install of Windows which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given, has zero reported problems, and is better than any amount of money could buy: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki... Note the driver steps are so important they are printed in red.
The reason I ask you to do this is because no one of millions who have followed the install in that link has ever come back to report problems that I have seen. It is also a great learning experience that will make you permanently the master of your PC because you will learn what works best and have applied it with your own hands.
Report back all results for possible other things to try.
Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

2022-11-09T02:13:51+00:00 There werent any changes made to my computer before the issue started happening, i've also already tried rolling back and updating drivers to no avail as this also happens with completely seperate branded mice. And i've also fresh installed windows after trying to troubleshoot the issue around 3 days ago.

2022-11-09T01:57:47+00:00 Hi KaiKaiJ -
I'm Jerico T., I understand that you're having some issues right now and I'd be more than happy to help you today.
Prior to the issue, is there any recent changes on your PC? Kindly try to roll-back your mouse driver.
- Open run box by pressing Windows Key + R and type devmgmt.msc then hit enter
- Locate and expand Mice and other pointing devices
- Right-click HID-compliant mouse and select Update driver
- Select Browse my computer for drivers
- Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
- Select any older driver from the list and click next
- Wait for the process to complete, once completed, restart your computer and check if it resolves your issue.
Hope this help. Have a good day.
Thank you,
Jerico T.
