Windows Security's Smart App Control is blocking a msys mingw file

I got "Part of this app has been blocked: some features of "C:\msys64\mingw64\bin\g++.exe" may not work because we can't confirm who published collect2.exe that the app tried to load" when trying to compile my code which during its compilation a file located at "C:\msys64\mingw64\lib\gcc\x86_64-w64-mingw32\12.2.0\collect2.exe" was needed, hence leading to failure. I'm not 100% certain for this to be a false positive, but I doubt a file in a well-known open-source project, featured by Microsoft itself to be malware.

    Hello dariushmazlumi,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

You can restore normal access to this directory in Windows Security. In Windows security > Virus & threat protection *> "*Manage settings" *under the "*Virus & threat protection settings" > "Manage Controlled folder access" under the "Controlled folder access"

    • > “Protected folders”, if your target directory is in this list, click the entry > Removed*.*
    • > “Allow an app through Controlled folder access” > “Add an allowed app”, find the path of the app you want to allow through and select it.

Or you can add the program or its path to the exclusion scan list. In Windows security > Virus & threat protection *> "*Manage settings" under the "Virus & threat protection settings" > "Add or remove exclusions" under the "Exclusions" > Add an exclusion.
