Seriously? Ctrl+ A no longer selects all?

Horrible start to using Windows 11 when I can't even use a shortcut to select all. After decades of Ctrl+ A, C, & Ving all over windows, it's just gone with no explanation? You begged me incessantly to switch to Windows 11....I damn sure knew giving in was a bad idea, & sure enough, here we are...it's just like Windows 7 to 8 happening all over again. Let's hope this time it isn't "oops, so sorry for ruining your PC with our so-called improvements" from Windows all over again! Beyond frustrating. There simply aren't enough curse words in the English language for this.

Hi, I'm Mario, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

We are sorry about what happened.

    Perform the test:

    1. windows + I > Ease of Access > Keyboard
    2. Enable the "Sticky Key" option
    3. Go to any folder
    • Press CTRL and release
    • Press A, do not hold CTRL

*If the shortcut works it is an indication that the keyboard may be having a problem recognizing the CTRL+A keys simultaneously.

    1. Disable the "Sticky Key

If it doesn't work even using the sticky key:

    Test reinstalling the keyboard driver.

    1. windows + X > Device Manager > View > Show hidden device
    2. Click > Keyboard
    3. Do the process below for all devices listed under "Keyboard
    • Right click > Uninstall Device > Uninstall
    1. Restart your computer

    Kind Regards,

    Mario B.

    Strange, all works here

Do we assume you are using File Explorer?
