    Hi SUDHIR KUMARPANDA,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The TPM chip is a device provided by the computer hardware manufacturer. Usually, the driver download page of the brand manufacturer's official website will provide the download. Note, however, that since it is a hardware device, you need to verify that your computer's TPM chip supports the upgrade before you are ready to download and install TPM2.0. If you currently want to upgrade your PC to Windows 11 but see that your PC's TPM2.0 does not meet the requirements, contact your PC manufacturer to confirm the information.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

    Response to SUDHIR KUMARPANDA.

I am Tran-Ha Vu, a new member of this forum. Might I help you about your question "Sir, I could not find security Device in Device Manager" ?

If You didn't see 'Security Devices' in Device Manager window that means your (module) TPM 2.0 (or 1.2) isn't configured in Bios Setting. When your PC is starting you hit Del or F2 of your keyboard => Bios Setting is opened. You search Advance setting you will see TPM disabled, and you will enable it. Save the changes and boot to Windows OS. And now in Device Manager, you will see 'Security Devices, click on it this appears a lin with mention 'Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (or 1.2). That's all.

    Sir,

My PC with Windows 10 installed has already a module TPM 1. 2 installed. With its Device Manager I can see Security devices with Trusted Platform Module 1.2 . By Click right on it I have 'Update Driver' then click on 'Update Driver' an window 'How do you want to search for drivers' appears =>click on 'Browse my computer for drivers' =>click on 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers...' =>uncheck 'Show compatible hardware' =>I see a driver called XCG/MSR. With this driver, can I update TPM 1.2 to TPM 2.0 ?.

    Thank you for advance.

    Sir,

    It's me, Vu.

I have just received a note from Microsoft Community about my question which is not clear.

My PC with Asus motherboard P8H67-m pro and Windows 10 installed on it. I want to upgrade to Windows 11. But my motherboard has not module TPM 2.0. I bought the module TPM 2.0 20-1 pin (that means 19 pin) and installed it in the motherboard. Then, I enter in Bios to configure it. I opened Device Manager I saw this module with mention: 'Trusted Platform Module 1.2'. I right click on this line to update it's driver to TPM 2.0, a pop up menu appears:

    • I click on update driver =>an window named 'How do you want to search driver' , inside the window I click on 'Browse my computer for drivers' =>another window appears named 'Browse for drivers on your computer' and I click on 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer' =>an window appears named 'Select the driver you want to install for this hardware', I uncheck the box named 'Show compatible hardware' then the window displays two models: -Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and - Trusted Platform Module 2.0, I click TPM 2.0 then click 'Next' , then an pop-up Warning says that: Installing this device driver is not recommended because Windows can not verify that it is compatible with your hardware.....

Because of this warning, I have to demand you an aid.

    Thank you.

    Vu
