I want to know how to permanently disable the built-in Laptop keyboard in Windows so I can plug-in an external keyboard and use that instead of the built-in one.

I have tried the existing method of uninstalling it from the Device manager but it comes back when I restart my PC. I need to find a way to disable it permanently.

After doing that ,do the below steps to disable the laptop keyboard permanently:

    1. Press the Win key and type cmd in the Windows search bar.
    2. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator. Click Yes when the UAC prompt appears.
    3. In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter:
             sc config i8042prt start= disabled

    4. When the success message appears, close the Command Prompt, and restart your PC. After the restart, your laptop keyboard will stop registering any inputs.

If you want to disable the internal built-in keyboard of your laptop and use an external keyboard with it then you can do it with the help of Group Policy.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Go to gpedit.msc
    2. Under Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Device Installation Restrictions, you will find this specific group policy: revent Installation of devices that match any of these device IDs.
    3. Go to the Device manager and grab the DeviceId of the built-in keyboard.
    4. Enter that DeviceId in that group policy and Enable it.

This will allow you to to specifically disable your internal keyboard and you are free to use any external keyboard.

If you're not familiar with Group Policy at all HERE's a detailed guide with complete steps.
