I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 5515 and installed SupportAssist. Sometimes when I turn my laptop on, it appeared SupportAssist notification that my fan didnt respond correctly, I brought my Dell to store to check it out and they said that the diagnostic ran to fast to recognise the fan (I allowed the pc to turn on after open the lid), just need to update BIOS to 1.12.0, I did update all my drivers up to date and turn the auto-turnon off but the error was still there. How could I fix it? pls help

    Hi Huy Phạm1

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That fan error is a known bug on Dell laptops, the Dell forums are full of people reporting the same bug and usually that does not mean there is anything wrong with the processor fan on your laptop, it is a false positive, if you run the Dell Diagnostics again, does it still report the same error?

Do you hear the fans on your laptop working when you are doing an intensive task?

Does your laptop overheat or become very hot if you do nto hear the fans?

By usual my fan is working properly but sometimes it makes quite loud sound and slower a bit though I just using normal websites but I dont think it's a big problem. I ran diagnostics several times and it's still working well. Thanks alot for your help!
