How do I scan multiple pages as a PDF file in Windows 11?

Since updating to Windows 11, the only way I seem to be able to get my scanner to work is using Windows Scan. Unfortunately, I can't see any way to scan multiple pages into the PDF I am trying to create. I used to be able to do this using my scanner's functions but since updating to Windows 11, the scanner can't seem to connect to my PC via the scanner's buttons. Does anyone know a way around this?

    Hi Greg,

    I have the same problem.

I'd like to scan multiple pages to one file using Windows Scan. It's installed and scanning single pages only, which I'm saving as PDFs. there's no option to 'add page' before saving.

This was the original requester's problem too.

    Thanks in advance.

Windows has always had poor PDF support and that does not seem to have improved in Windows 11. I have tried both the built-in "Windows Fax and Scan" app and the "Windows Scan" app from the Windows Store. Neither of them will scan multiple pages to a PDF file which seriously is the most basic requirement for a scanner app in 2022.

I think the only solution would be to find a 3rd-party app. I'm going to look for one now. I'm using a Brother scanner, maybe Brother have an app that can do it.

Just forget the native app. Open your Microsoft Store and type "scanner", then install the app called: Scanner - Quick and Easy Document Scanning. It's perfect. Just choose the PDF type file and start scanning. No adds and it's free. You will notice that the app doesn't have a "save" button. That's because it saves the file automatically every time it's changed. When you finished just close the app and the file will be there in the folder of your choice. Here is the link to simplify. Good scannings.

Unfortunately, I'm using an Epson scanner. I'll check to see if they have an app. Not really good enough to force us to use Windows Scan after upgrading to Windows 11, especially when it's an inferior app.

    Hi Greg,

Any update on how you can scan multiple pages to a PDF using Windows Scan? I can't seem to do this or change the settings on Windows scan to allow for this.

    Thanks,

    Jon
