This response makes me wish you hadn't. I need a solution.
the keyboard on my Gateway Laptop is not working correctly.
I have tried the fixes mentioned in other questions similar to mine. When I start up the laptop, then keyboard does not work. I just get beeps when pressing keys. when I use the touch pad to navigate to "I forgot my pin" it loads up the sign in for Microsoft. I close that dialog box and the keyboard works until I get to the desktop. Once on the desktop it stops working. I have checked the drivers, they are up to date. I have restarted several times. The issue still persists. The touch pad works correctly.
I have opened the Device Manager it lists two HID keyboards that are both running correctly. I have checked the drivers for the HID keyboards, they are up to date. I have checked the drivers for the standard keyboard, it is up to date. When looking in the properties of the keyboards, it says the keyboards were migrated properly from the old operating system on 10/25/22. I plugged in my work keyboard into the usb. It performed in the exact same way. All keys except the Fn key does not work.
Here are the laptop's specs:
Gateway PC Laptop
intel(R) Pentium(R) Silver N5030 CPU @ 1.10GHz
64-bit operating system, x64 based processor
I have the latest update of Windows 11 installed on 10/25/22

2022-11-17T19:30:31+00:00 If you get beeps when pressing keys thats faulty HW
You update drivers only from that laptop maker, not win update or Device manager
Win Latest updates means nothing unless you provide update history
