Windows Media Player becomes laggy with hybrid mode disabled

It's pretty self-explanatory. I discovered that with hybrid mode disabled in my windows 11 laptop, Windows Media Player becomes VERY laggy, playing videos ~15fps. Repairing and reinstalling the application doesn't help so I had to switch to Movies and TV. I just found out that it gets fixed when I re-enable Hybrid mode. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I'm glad to help you.

I tested it for you, but I can't reproduce your issue.

You can try the following suggestions first.

    1. Turn off Windows hardware acceleration.

Right-click on the Start button located in the taskbar, then click on Settings.

Inside the Settings menu, click on System from the left-side list, then access Display.

After that, scroll down through the Display menu until you find Graphics (under Related settings), then click on it.

Once you’re finally inside the Graphics menu, click on Change default graphics settings(under Default settings).

Finally, disable the toggle associated with Hardware-accelerated GPU schedulingin order to disable this feature.

Reboot your pc and check again.

    1. Create a new local administrator account to check if the problem disappears.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes.

    Best regards
