Windows 10 22H2 Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver v17.5.0.1017 not compatible/unable to install

Lately I did a clean install of Windows 10 22H2, however the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver v17.5.0.1017 for my ASUS STRIX Z390-F motherboard.
At both the load driver/F6 driver stage during Win 10 installation or during the installation in Windows.
Both instance of the installation failed and there is a message informing me to contact vendor for up to date driver.

I have contacted ASUS regarding this error message but the issue here is shouldn't the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver be able
to install? Previous Win 10 build I could use the driver on the ASUS website with no issue but the Win 10 22H2 I could not
so is there any logical explanation other than the driver either out of date or not compatible with the Win 10 22H2 release?

Concurrently I have to use the MS standard AHCI driver else it will BOSD when I try to install the driver package.

Its actually in that link you provided earlier. Not sure why you're not seeing it :)

    Windows 10 section only.

    SATA

Version 17.5.0.10172019/07/02 26.88 MBytes Inte Rapid Storage Technology Driver
Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver Software V17.5.0.1017
    Intel(R) AHCI/RAID Driver V17.5.0.1017

Its just old and end of lifed for that board from ASUS.

@Maxli86 I'm playing with rufus format tool right now for other reasons and it still contains links to Windows 11 21h2 when downloading directly through rufus. If RST worked pre-22h2 then you can simply reinstall the older version as a choice and stick with that for some time. The driver should have updated by the time 21h2 support ends if Intel is still supporting RST.

I haven't installed this on any devices having seen all the problems posted.

    Hi Maxli86,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Below is the support page for your motherboard, I do not see Intel RST listed there, I see the preferred chipset driver is Intel Management Engine Interface V2120.100.0.1085

    https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog...

Where are you seeing Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver v17.5.0.1017 should be installed on your motherboard?
