Unidentified Network issue, no Internet posted solutions resolve this.

Hi, I have hunted through the Internet and see there are a standard selection of solutions to this issue. None of these have solved the issue.

I have multiple connections over Internet, WiFi and Ethernet, all work except one machine. It has both WiFi and Ethernet connections, neither of which work. It just refuses to connect to the network.

I have tried a wide range of ip resets, dns resets etc as well as manual ip config etc. Tried restating the router...no joy.

Clearly, without Internet connectivity, I cannot uodate drivers etc.

Tried connecting to alternative networks, nothing.

Windows 11 Home, 22H2, built 22621.755

Related networking, Ethernet on motherboard, WiFi on PCI card.

Anyhelp please?

No need for what? I have no connectivity from this system and the outside world. I’ve done every reset under the sun, updated drivers, uninstalled hardware, purchased and installed new physical hardware, manually configured IP addresses in the router, reformatted my router itself, directly connected to the modem, and tested the connections, wired and wireless, with multiple other devices.

Please tell me what I should be doing right now, because as far as I can see, Microsoft pushed an update that broke my ability to connect a $3000 computer the the internet and is now telling me to do everything that I’ve either already done or that is actually impossible because the computer in question literally can not connect to the internet.

I rolled back 2 updates KB5020622 & KB5019980, which were the most recent. I now have WIFI again.

    Windows 11 Pro 22H2.

    OS Build 22621.1

When I allowed them to install again, I lost WIFI again.

    -Cheers

Another update, I got a Wi-Fi adapter from Amazon and got that installed.

Yes, Microsoft, I properly installed the drivers.

Still does the exact same thing. Authenticates when connecting to my Wi-Fi but just says “No Internet, Secured”.

Very useful. And since there doesn’t seem to be any help available, I guess I’m screwed. I got through to Microsoft support and after explaining everything I did, they told me to contact a local technician because the problem is with the drivers and hardware, not windows.

So now I’m stuck, I can’t connect to the internet because windows won’t accept a DHCP address and Microsoft refuses to provide any assistance.

    Paloma,

thank you for your response which in summary has not helped. Some of the things you ask me to do are impossible...allow me to explain:

    Method 1

I suggest that you go to the website of the manufacturer of your equipment from another computer and consult it by model, download the latest drivers, such as network card, sound card, video card, chipset, Bios, among others and install on your computer. Impossible.. the computer does not connect to the internet. But, it is on auto update so should be good.

    Method 2

Problems solution. As there is no internet there is only 1 troubleshooter which runs without options and returns an error - "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

    Method 3

    1. Press Windows + X, select Windows Powershell (Admin); There is NO powershell option in this menu, but searching for it finds it. I ran it a Administrator

Most commands get a response, but 3 are clearly wrong commands (maybe typo on your part?)

netsh int 6to4 reset all [Enter]

netsh int isatap reset all [Enter

netsh int teredo reset all [Enter]

ipconfig /renew [Enter] this command runs, but comes back with errors saying it cannot renew with no media connected. this is for both ethernet and wifi connections

    Method 4

Change DNS Again nothing. I have also tried manual IP address setting, again nothing.

    Method 5

    Resetting network settings Again nothing

    Any suggestions would be good.

It is unlikely to be that both network cards failed at the same time, so must be something to do with the IP configuration?
