I would like to Disable Windows' "Shake to Minimize" function without having to play with Regedit

I find the "Shake to Minimize" function bothersome. Often times, I have 10 different windows open, that I am actively using, and they seemingly minimize "without a reason" until I read about the "Shake to Minimize" function.

The articles I've found, to disable this function, detail how to do it via the Registry. Is there an option within Windows itself? I don't have admin access on my work laptop and I would like to disable this function "natively" within Windows' 10 Configurations and Settings.

Thanks.

Apparently, this setting used to exist, not unlike how I remembered it. See this article by Windows Latest

But according to rumors it seem like MS want to axe it

And it seems like they did, since now this setting is gone

But they didn't remove this feature (?)
It's so weird. I remember enabling this setting when I was setting my laptop up (literally less than a month ago)

and now I realize it's not as cool as it sounds.

Further intrigue rises from the fact that my registry doesn't have this key in the registry altogether.

You should be able to change it via Group Policy client, however, and it might not need administrative rights.

It's under "User Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "Desktop", and it's called "Turn off Aero Shake window minimizing mouse gesture".

    Hi Cr8zy_Ivan,

    1

That option should be in that section, can you see the other Windows Snap settings on that settings page?

    2

Download this reg file, then right click that and select' Merge', does that work even though you do not have Administrator Privileges?

Unfortunately not. I suspect it might be a hidden setting by the System Administrators.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestion, but as I said, I don't have admin access on this laptop, and the IT department prevents us from installing external software and modifying the registries.

In the Multitasking menu page, there is a message to the effect that some settings are hidden by my organisation.

    Cheers

    Hi Cr8zy_Ivan,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open the Settings App, then go to System - Multitasking

Is there a setting there named - Title bar window shake

    If there is, disable that
