I was having the kinda same issue to where my taskbar wouldn't load up and i couldn't really do anything on my pc and I tried the things in this thread with no results but what I did is:

I booted the system up in recovery mode and then I uninstalled the recent update by going to:

(Troubleshoot > Advanced Options >Uninstall Updates > Uninstall Latest Quality Update)

once successfully done, restart to boot process and its might tell u a system file is missing like it told me.

Just reenter the recovery mode from the screen and restore it from the point before the update was installed (yesterday for me.) by clicking:

(Troubleshoot > Advanced Options >System Restore) Then pick a point you'd like to use.

I know its not a permanent fix but at least I can finally use my computer again Like I am do to type this reply. hopefully they'll push an update to fix this problem.

I faced the same issue, to solve it:

Go to Start -> Troubleshoot Settings.

    Click Other Troubleshooters

    Under Windows Update, Click Run.

It will take approximately 15 min or so, and once its done, it should show

    Problems found

Check for windows update issues detected.

Go and try to open file explorer.. you should be able to open the file explorer again.

    Hi Namu_Oranami,

    See if this helps:

Launch Settings → Apps → Default apps

Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Click on the "Reset" button next to "Reset all default apps."

    Click OK to confirm.

I've looked at the 3 most recent dump files and they all indicate that Windows.Storage.dll is the faulting component.

As a starting point, I;d recommend the advice given in this thread:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windowsstoragedll-not-found-error/

I'd start with the DISM bit first, then the Repair tool...you could also put the following into the command box

    sfc /scannow

That will scan your system files and attempt repairs

Edit: Seems the IA can see something in the dump files that is not apparent to me as I do not see SHCore.dll mentioned anywhere....I will leave the advice in this post but I'd recommend ignoring it

    Hi Namu,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

I see SHCore.dll caused the crashes but it is a Windows file so a shell handler is involved.

The cause is usually a 3rd party shell handler.

Try disabling those one by one and find the problematic handler.
