Minecraft for windows crash at startup loading screen at 34% everytime. Fault module kernelbase.dll

Hello

I've had some problems trying to start Minecraft for Windows 10 where it was crashing instantly or a few seconds into the red Mojang screen and I managed to solve that after hours of battling the issue.... only to now constantly have the game close itself when the loading bar reaches 34%.

I'm running windows 10 pro, my graphic drivers are updated (RTX 2080 Ti), I tried to reset MS store before uninstalling / reinstalling the game multiple times, I tried god knows how many console commands to try and fix the issue to no avail. Also I'm the only user and administrator of this computer and this computer had already run bedrock version in the past (more than a year ago though).

Here's what I get from the crash report from my event viewer :

P5 is the fault module
If I understood the report correctly, P8 should be the exception code but I didn't find anything regarding that, P9 is fault offset.

I hope I can get help for that issue, I don't get why I can't run this version of Minecraft.
Keep in mind, I have never encountered such an issue with anything else before.

You got me wrong, I meant that most of these fixes are fixes I already tried and a few others are for java edition, bad wording.

Minecraft Game Crashes and Performance Issues FAQ  – Home - Didn't fix anything, as I said, I've got all drivers, especially graphic card ones, updated.

    (1) Minecraft Bedrock is crashing on startup on a Windows 10 PC. Uninstalling and reinstalling does no good. : Minecraft (reddit.com) - This is a windows "N" version issue that requires media feature pack installation for the game to work (It's a dependency of the game apparently). I do not (should not?) suffer of this issue being on Windows 10 Pro, I did double check and can't even install that pack anyway since it's apparently included with this version of my system.

How To Fix Minecraft Keeps Crashing On Windows 10 [ Fixed ] (techworm.net) - This page mostly lists super basic "fix" you find everywhere that I already tried many times to no avail and some of the fix listed talk specifically about repairing issues with the JVM which is specifically only relevant for the java edition anyway (my java edition works fine by the way).

Minecraft Keeps Crashing Before It Starts—What to Do (playerassist.com) - Same as the link above, pretty standard fix and some of them specifically targetting the java edition.

Minecraft Bedrock crashes on startup (gamerz-forum.com) - No luck here. I don't run on integrated graphics, I'm on a custom built tower PC I made myself.

    (1) Minecraft Keeps Crashing | Crash on Startup on Windows [FIXED] - YouTube - You already linked that one on the very first reply. It overlaps with fixes already discussed in the links above and presents some java repairs (again, irrelevant for bedrock).

Also about point 3) of your reply, I don't have performance issues in any game, and in Minecraft well, I can't really know since I just can't start the game xD

As for your point 4), as I said, drivers are updated and even my BIOS has been flashed to a decently recent version. If there isn't any known conflict with the game and some of my drivers, I would be very surprised the issue lies there, even if everything is possible I guess.

As for point 5) I didn't do it yet as I am using this computer for critical work in the next months at least so I'd rather not go that route yet. I could though find some time in this coming week to try out some things with a different user account on my machine see if it's an account related issue.

Another possible problem source could be some software conflicts but after checking the known conflict from Mojang's list on their website, I did not quite find anything that is apparently known to conflict with the game.

It's quite a crazy issue. I will report back with anything new, it's currently hard for me to spend that much time for such a trivial thing during weeks I have heavy workloads.

    Kind regards.

After you clarified (for the first time) that this is Bedrock edition, I gave you only bedrock fixes. So why are you saying that these are mostly Java fixes? Where?

Please complete all fixes and report back results so I know what else to suggest.

Sorry to report back this late.

Most of these fix I've either already done or specifically are about java issues.

I can't restore the system back to when the game worked because it's a long time ago (more than a year at the very least).

All my drivers are up to date from the manufacturer's and not just from Windows.

I could try creating another local account on my machine to see if it fixes the issue. I will report back if it resolved anything.

    Kind regards.

Okay so I managed to change the .dll with the ones from a friend with similar OS version and now that lead to bluescreens on boot and eventually I had to chose to recover which started an attempt at repairing the system to roll back to a working image...

Needless to say, Minecraft for windows still crashes at 34%. At this point I really don't know what to do.

    Hello Greg,

You first link points towards a fix for the java edition, here I'm specifically talking about the bedrock version.

On your second link, I can't run the compatibility troubleshooter as this is a Microsoft app and not an executable. I can't find any executable related to run that troubleshooter from.

Then they ask to try the regsvr32, this is something I tried before but doesn't work as doing this command, no matter if it's for registering or unregistering will lead to this error :

I also already tried the sfc /scannow command which unfortunately did not resolve the issue.
DISM commands doesn't highlight anything wrong...
I did not try to replace that .dll with the one of a friend who has the game work, I can do that later today if it is still not resolved.
I will report back my results with that asap.

Your 3rd link, the video, is also about the java edition and keep in mind that I do not get any crash message pop-up. I start my game from the launcher, it starts the game which closes the launcher and then proceeds to load up to 34% after passing the red mojang logo and just closes itself, no error pop-up showing.
