Hi, I can no longer find the folder c:\windows\minidump . Where can I find dump files? Is it the right place to look for the blue screen of death cause? Thanks, Karel.

I'm getting BSODs on a daily basis with a total clean install of windows 11 (so no cleaning software, 135gb free on C:, etc). Ive tried a variety of dmp settings but no dmp files in \windows and no \minidump folder.

Event viewer doesn't seem to shed much light on the reason for the BSOD or the failure to create the dmp, just an Event 41:

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

    Hi Karel,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you PC settings is set to create small memory dump files, then yes, C:\Windows\Minidump is the correct location in Windows 11 22h2.

Check in the C:\Windows folder, is there a very large file named Memory.dmp in that folder?

    Hi Karel,

There is no indication from anyone that 22h2 has had any affect on minidump file creation, sometimes minidump files are not created from BSOD's it just fails to be created, or if you have cleaning software installed like CCleaner o a 3rd party antivirus, that may be deleting minidump files.

I would check your PSU, it's fairly old. Does Event view say "unexpected restart dude to power loss"?

My problem turned out to be graphics card drawing too much power for some reason, but it was very old (1060).
