I'm trying to run Rise of the Robots and many other DOS games using DOSBox for the first time in a long time, but it keeps telling me "This Program Cannot be Run in DOS Mode" why?! <removed> I was able to run them before but now for some reason I cannot.
Just FYI, back then when I ran a DOS exe directly (not from DOSBox), Windows used to give me a message in a blue box saying:
This App Can’t Run on Your PC

The only DOS games that I can run now are the ones officially being sold online and pre-packaged with DOSBox like Descent and Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri. But now when I click on a DOS exe, nothing happens, not even the message above. It is most likely that a program is interfering with DOS-specific exes, how can I know which one is and how to disable it? I don't have viruses on my PC BTW.

Guys nevermind, it was a minor virus or a corrupted file. I downloaded Avast antivirus and did a quick scan, it said a file called Win32:VB-OJQ [Wrm] was a virus. After I did the scan and restarted my computer, everything went back to normal and now I can run DOS games just fine.

With regard to your problem, it is more inclined to the compatibility problem of Dosbox. You are more suitable to submit your problems on the Dosbox forum. I hope your problems can be solved as soon as possible.

Same case was with you in 2017, according to your comment you said that you went to repair store "Lost Data" and they recoverd all your files as it was before formatting. Please 🙏 tell me where is this repair store i.e. in which country and city is it? and if you can provide me their contact number I shall be very thankful to you. Hi M_Kashif! Sorry to hear about your data loss. In the 2017 post, I didn't format my hard disk (as opposed to downloading Win 10 OS like you did), I said that there was something that messed up my hard disk (The program was called Media Creation Tool), I'm from KSA and as I said in one of the later replies, the store doesn't necessarily have to be called "Lost Data," you may just need to go to any computer expert store to recover it. I hope you can find someone that can help you in your local area my friend.
Yes, probably better to post on the DOS BOX forums. I had DOS BOX and Defend Reloaded for years but never got around to learning
how to use it beyond a few games that came with Defend Reloade and were ready to go.
Anyway, I just downloaded DOS BOX v70.4.30 and it installed it on Win11and it launches with a message detailing which keys to use to
lower cpu speed and activate the key mapper, so I assume it is working, but have no clue (without reading the tutorial)
where to go from there to verify it is fully functional.
The only DOS based games I have are from GOG etc, and they are still launching with no issues on Win11. So it's looking like
new security features shouldn't be what is causing that error on Win10.

I am from Pakistan, can you please share your WhatsApp number or email address I want to contact you directly and want to share with you the screenshot of my PC disk partition and management.
