Minecraft Launcher can't verify I own Minecraft, and the website isn't loading!

I log in to the Minecraft launcher and it keeps saying "We were unable to verify what products you own. Please check your internet connection." in a red popup in the top right-hand corner. I tried signing out of Microsoft Store, I tried restarting, checking updates, updating my drivers, reinstalling, repairing, resetting, more reinstalling and every single fix I could find (that wasn't downloading 3rd party software, or doing anything that needed admin). It acts like I don't own Minecraft even though I do. I have been playing it for a few months now. I didn't do anything or download any suspicious software but I also realised my laptop was lagging. My internet was slow lately (I have reset the internet and restarted my modem etc.). For example, search indexing was off for some reason and when I tried to click the link the turn it back on (in the search menu), it wouldn't open anything. I did a full scan and nothing happened. I don't understand what is wrong? Are the Minecraft servers down and my laptop lagging is a whole other issue? Should I go get my laptop checked (it's still under warranty). Every other app runs fine, like Microsoft Edge and OneNote. Just Minecraft launcher?

I should probably add that every time I downloaded the Minecraft launcher from the store, it always had to update before I could use it, which I thought was weird because I assumed Microsoft Store would give me the most recent update? Also, Minecraft Launcher takes a while to log me in...

Anyway I would be grateful for any suggestions or fixes because it has been at this for a few days now.

As you can see below, it is acting like I don't own Minecraft?? I do though... In the photo below that one, is my Microsoft Store screenshot showing I already have Minecraft & shouldn't need to buy it again (I like my name and don't want to spend $40 on the game again).

    Hello Felix,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

Apart from Minecraft are you able to login to other online games (not apps just games?)

Minecraft servers are running correctly and I was and am able to login normally.

Also try opening the xbox app on your system and check if your account is properly logged in. If it is try logging out from the xbox app then restart your system and directly open Minecraft launcher and use it to login to your account.

Minecraft Java Edition is the ONLY game I am having issues with.

(I don't play Bedrock and have never been interested in it).

This specifically includes a few STEAM games (which you folks don't control, but have a similar "online verification of ownership" setup).

Have gone so far as to try a "from scratch" re-install of the game, no change.

I have no idea what you mean by a "xbox app" as I don't run ANY "app" and never have - and Minecraft never needed it before 2 days ago when it suddenly for no reason STOPPED WORKING.

Minecraft Launcher is ALWAYS how I have logged into the game.

It is NOT a connectivity issue - I can SEE the servers in multiplayer, I just keep getting "session expired" when I try to log into any of them.

Also, the "Play/Play Offline" button keeps cycling between the 2 states, on about a 1-3 second cycle (it varies a little).

It looks like you have had a widespread error that lost A LOT of the data about who owns Minecraft legitimately, as all of the Minecraft Server COUNTS are down across the board by a lot. especially incuding Hypixel which seems to have lost about 60-70% of it's USUAL user count.

P.S. When I did the "from scratch" reinstall, I got the reinstall loader FROM the specific Minecraft.net site you mentioned.

And no, I do NOT run Windows 10, have never even considered 11 given how many issues I had with 10 in the few months I made the mistake of installing it on my gaming system (and had to REINSTALL it from scratch *3 times*. after every "automatic update" as it insisted on downloading a BROKEN driver for my video card that would not let the machine boot outside of safe mode).

Thanks for replying! Anyway, I don't really play other online games but I can use the internet normally such as on Microsoft Edge, and To-do, OneNote etc. I can use the Xbox game bar as usual and the same for the Xbox app. Hold on. I logged in antd out of the Xbox app as you said and Minecraft launcher is working! However, this is on my phone's hotspot (I'm on the train at the moment), so maybe it was a problem with only my home internet. I will try again at home and update you on whether it is still a problem with the internet at home, or if it is all fixed! Thanks for the help and the quick reply (sorry for the slow response).

    *UPDATE* It works!!
