EFI Shell start up error

I bought my mother a mini PC to plug into the back of her TV a year ago. Intel chip, Windows 10, it has run perfectly normal until now. Whenever it starts up, it goes to this EFI screen and no matter how many times I hold the power button and restart it, I get the same screen.

I have run system repairs on my laptop before and so searched the internet for this problem. All I learned was to type exit to get to the setup utility.

I don't think mine is normal. Nowhere do I find 'CSM' or any other connection to Windows repairs.

I can't seem to change anything in the fixed boot order.

The Windows - Push button reset option here does not do anything.

Does anyone know what my next step is?

Hello Lisa . I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

You have the modern UEFI BIOS which requires the Windows Boot Manager to be set first to boot at all times. Instead I see a bunch of USB devices set first to boot followed by the hard drive, which is only set first in Legacy CSM install. Did someone reinstall Windows in Legacy CSM mode? Installing in Legacy or CSM mode on a UEFI BIOS is like buying a new car and disabling all of the safety and performance features.

If it's the Factory Install but a bunch of changes were made that explain the disarray, then you might be able to resolve it by choosing Restore Defaults, save and exit. Then post back screenshots of Security, Boot and Advanced tabs (Expand last four listings on Advanced so I can see all choices).

There should be a Setting somewhere for enabling UEFI, disabling CSM/Legacy BIOS. Once this is enabled it should make available Secure Boot on Security tab which needs enabling, too.

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

The settings have not been altered. I think the problem is that I bought a mini pc: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FWKMCNQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and maybe it could not handle an update.

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my very best to help you.

Check if you have the option "Windows 8 configuration" in the advanced tab of the BIOS, if you have this option click on that and disable it, then press F10 to save the change and reboot your computer and your Windows should start normally.
