Hello, I have been trying to play Overwatch 2 recently, but when I try to open the game I get an error saying "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try to reinstall the program... [...] 0xc0000428" I have tried reinstalling the program, also tried a lot of steps I show in other similar posts but nothing worked.
I am currently using windows 11.
So if someone can tell me a fix I would be so grateful.

    Hey, Rick

Thanks for the quick reply but sadly none of that worked, my drivers are up to date and sfc did detect an issue but says that it couldn't be fixed (I have the log file if you want it or something), moreover the directx setup says I already have directx.

Hey, I had a similar issue and I found a solution that seems to have worked!

I was able to open the game at least. Here's what I did:

I found this topic about repairing a windows installation https://itforum.com.br/noticias/como-reparar-o-windows-10-e-11-em-4-etapas/ (which is in portuguese btw) all props to that guy.

So I ran cmd as administrator and executed these commands without quotes:

    "dism / online / cleanup-image / checkhealth"

and after it was done, executed:

    "sfc /scannow"

I tried just sfc /scannow before but it didn''t work.

You should get something like "we found corrupted files and we were able to repair successfully.

    Hope it helps!

    Hello!

My name is Dérek, I'm an independent platform consultant and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help you.

Diego,I'm sorry about the situation, friend.

But PC gaming is not managed by Microsoft, only by Battle.net

I advise you to call their support, so they can provide you with detailed and specific information about their platform ok?

I remain at your disposal if you have any further questions.

    • Windows errors are often misleading, but to verify DX is not the direct cause of the issue and if the DX Web Installer

says you have all DX files, you may want to try reinstalling DX using the DX Redist installer package to

verify the files required by the game are not corrupt.

This installer will reinstall all DX9,10 & 11 files and fix potential corrupt files in the process. The DX Web Installer only installs 'missing' files.

Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX Redist (June 2010)

But, yeah! The game has only just been released, and may be buggy, so a dedicated Blizzard Overwatch 2 forum may be a better place

to find fixes for game specific bugs.
