To Whom it May Concern;

Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3030.0

The Operating System described above is installed on my H.P. NoteBook 15" Bw011D (Energy Star), Laptop the BIOS is in Legacy Mode, ver. 05.0.11.34F.52-(12/03/2019)

Device Specifications;

Device name: HP-NB-15-BW011D (Energy Star) LAPTOP

   Processor:     AMD A6-9220 RADEON R4, 5 COMPUTER LAPTOP 2 CORES 2C+3G  (2.50 GHz)

The Root of my question is to discover and resolve why, after over 4 years of using and benefiting from the Security and Protection that I have been receiving from Britefort's Security Shield,"SpywareBlaster 6.0,(as well as many of it's former versions) is it now suddenly been identified by the compatibility Troubleshooter as "INCOMPATIBLE"?????????????????????

    Hi J. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

    What antivirus are you using? How was the Spyware program flagged exactly?

    If it won't open or run you can try reinstalling it in Compatibility Mode:
    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/run-old-softwa...

    However since it deals with Security it may run up against one of the Windows 10 features that restrict messing with the Security services and firewall.

    What we know is that the industry's undisputed best free malware and spyware/adware scanners Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner work quite well with Windows built-in Defender- which always offers best Windows performance with least issues, and is from Microsoft who knows how to protect their OS best.

    If you'd like to try these alternatives then get Malwarebyes from https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/. Enable Root Kit scanning in it's Scan settings. You can turn off the free trial in it's Account Settings if you want to keep it, which I would do because nothing else comes close to its thoroughness. But you don't need the Real Time protection if you don't get routinely infected.

    Get AdwCleaner from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcle...

    Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on detailed results you post back I will have other suggestions if necessary.

    Hi Greg;

    Thanks for your response! It looks like we see eye to eye! I've been using Microsoft's Window's Defender & Firewall since it was just a removeable Anti-Spyware Program!

    But NOT quite as long as I've been using BriteFort's SpywareBlaster (currently version 6.0) Anti-Spyware Shield!

    I wish that I had more for you to go on for you to be able to help me try and figure this mystery out!

     FYI; I'm already using Malwarebytes, along with ADWCleaner, SpyBot Search & Destroy, Microsoft's Safety Scanner & Microsoft's Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.(MWMSRT).

    I've also been through the diagnostic Utilities Gambit, including DISM.exe, SFC, CHKDSK & Norton Utilities 16 & Piriform's CCleaner,(thinking it was some kind of corruption causing this "NIGHTMARE" situation that is offering me so far, absolutely no clues why my SpywareBlaster 6.0 " REFUSES TO DO ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, NO ERRORS, NO FAILURE MESSAGES, IT JUSTS COMPLETELY REFUSES IN EITHER NORMAL START-UP OR SAFEMODE/with or without network to run or display anything!

    I've been using BriteFort's SpywareBlaster 6.0 (& it's previous versions), on my current H.P Notebook with the same O.S. for over 4 years with basically the same App's & Configuration, without any conflicts or being unexpectedly attacked in any way!

    I've been in touch with BriteFort's forum in regards to this situation & it was suggested that I "Whitelist" SpywareBlaster 6.0, which I did do in Windows Defender's Exclusion List, but it did NOT solve this issue!

    Maybe if you had a suggestion on "ALL" ways that I could "Whitelist" BriteFort's SpywareBlaster 6.0, possibly it could be the solution to this mystery?

    I'll anxiously await your response. Thanks again.

    Then it may not be compatible any longer. What was the recommended Compatibility Mode? Windows 7? Try the OS from when the app was released.

    If not then I'd use superior free AdwCleaner from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcle...

    Please report back results of the steps I wrote out for you to perform.

    Because you got a Compatabiliity error I gave you steps first for trying to reinstall in Compatibility Mode.

    If you've gotten any other errors showing something else blocking it then let me know so I can try workarounds for those too.

    I would change to AdwCleaner instead. No reason to fight Windows over something which has a better free alternative.
