Win. 11 Thunderbolt 4 Hub not detected. FIX ?

Hi,

UPDATE: RETURNED HUB

We just purchased the HP OMEN 45L, i9-12900K, DDR4, RTX-3090 graphics, Win. 11 (best of everything offered Jan. 2022)

Windows 11 doesn't recognize Anker Apex Thunderbolt 4 Hub. (Shouldn't this be backwards compatible?)

I've read about people needing to turn on Thunderbolt in BIOS and other settings.

Any help from those who have experience with this would be great.

Thank you

Jon

The only solution at this is to install windows 10. I've done everything I can for months to make my TB4 EGPU work, but it doesn't. Asus has suggested to ship the computer for repairs, because they can't figure it out. But, then I found another thread on this subject, after googling "thunderbolt controller missing in device manager", and all the results and people who had the same issue had a 12 gen intel combined with windows 11. I installed windows 10 on an external drive just to test if it worked, and it did! Even though my laptop shipped with windows 11, windows 10 works without issues. In windows 10, the thunderbolt controller shows up in device manager, tb control center works and both my tb4 hub and EGPU seems to work fine.

My final advice, if you love windows 11 for some reason, keep an eye out if they fix this issue in 11, but until they do, run windows 10. I don't see any point in windows 11 now, since my laptop actually runs better on windows 10 anyway. They'll have to really improve things before I'll go back there.

Same problem on Dell XPS 15 9520 with i9-12900Hk. TB4 is working under windows 10 but TB controller disappear under windows 11. Seems to be a general issue in windows 11 with 12th gen intel. USB-c is working fine. TB4 dock is working but recognize as a USB4 device. TB audio interface is not working. Intel software updater cannot detect TB.

Thank you for your answer. That's exactly what I did and everything works for me now. My laptop also came with Win11 by default. The integration of the TB drivers in the USB4 host seems to cause problems. Everything works fine for me under Win10, the driver installation was problem-free. But the way to get there was very nerve-wracking...

    I have the same problem with a 2022 Zephyrus M16 and a Plugable thunderbolt 4/usb 4 hub.

My laptop works fine with thunderbolt3 devices (seems to be built-in to the usb4 driver).

But when i go into the thunderbolt control app, the about page shows blank for the thunderbolt driver.

installing the latest intel thunderbolt driver fails with an error code that google implies means the driver is already installed (but seems to be referring to the usb4 driver).

yet the usb4/thunderbolt 4 hub acts like its not being approved/activated.

no devices plugged into it are recognized or even completely powered (thunderbolt ssd just blinks)
