I think it's a bug as you mentioned, thanks for the help though.
Motherboard HDMI does not work if Intel graphics drivers are installed (WINDOWS 11)
Hi, I have a rather serious problem.
I have a motherboard "MSI MAG B560 TOMAHAWK WIFI" on which there is one HDMI port and one DisplayPort.
I have connected two monitors an MSI optix g24c (HDMI) and an old Philips 170s (DisplayPort).
I have completely uninstalled all graphics drivers, done a clean install but the problem persists.
(I also tried doing a clean install of windows 11).
This is what I understood.
The HDMI port works in these cases:
- Safe Mode
- When switching on the PC, up to the lock screen immediately afterwards the Philips monitor (display port) is activated and the monitor connected to the HDMI goes into standby.
- Bios
- When Intel graphics drivers are not installed.
The HDMI port does not work in these cases:
- At some point during the installation of the Intel Graphics Drivers, the screen is shifted to the Philips monitor (displayport).
- So once the drivers are installed, it is no longer possible to use the MSI monitor connected to HDMI. (Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.3790)
I took some screenshots, in these screenshots the HDMI works.
Here the HDMI stops working, and the MSI monitor is considered inactive.
Only displayport works.
Pressing the 'enable' button does not change the situation.
When the drivers are installed, the msi monitor is considered inactive.

2022-11-05T14:55:09+00:00 It's a self-build.
I obviously downloaded the graphics drivers for the intel core i9 11900 from intel's site and the bios from MSI's site. -

If branded update both bios and all drivers from that maker, if a self-build from the mobo maker and Vid card maker
Your monitors would not usually require their own drivers.
Under Display settings you then set the option for multiple displays

2022-11-05T11:48:23+00:00 Sounds likes its simply a driver bug or limitation of some sort. If both of those passed, such as with a dedicated GPU, then Windows detects and shows the desktop on both monitors.
You could see if Windows Settings > Display settings can do anything further or some combination of settings in both places, etc. You can also check in the BIOS for anything related to the two should there be anything.
It could be possible that eg the HDMI cable is incapable of trying to display the selected resolution or something weird like that. Its difficult to believe this one imo lol.
Since its integrated, the BIOS might possibly fix it on updates if there are any.
You can ask Intel directly or ask MSI.
That should be about it imo. Its not something that has a lot of possibilities.
