Version 6.3 (Build 9600)

My windows is up to date. I have installed important and optional updates.
But still this program did not install. I need this because of Adobe Illustrator.
Please help!

    Tekkie,

    I tried the following way, and it works for me.

    1. Installed KB2919442 manually
    2. Installing KB2919355 (and all other updates) via Windows Update;
    3. Install vc_redist.x64.

    I have to say Microsoft really created problems for innocent people.

    When ever i install Microsoft visual c++ software i start by ensuring Microsoft visual c++ x86 version of that year is installed first on 64 bit computer like so.

    Visual C++ 2008 x86 followed by Visual C++2008 x64

    Visual C++ 2010 x86 followed by Visual C++ 2010 x64

    VisuallC++ 2013 x86 follow by Visual C++ 2013 x64

    Visual c++ 2015 x86 followed by Visual C ++ 2015 x64

    that how i ensure they are installed on Windows from 7 to Windows 11.

    Just remember prior Windows updates are need to ensure smooth running installing of Visual c++ 2015 too.

    Hello,

    Various updates fail on your system because a current servicing stack update (SSU) is required.

    For example:

    2022-10-02 19:38:06, Error                 CBS    Package "Package_for_KB5012170~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~9600.20512.1.3" requires Servicing Stack v6.3.9600.20367 but current Servicing Stack is v6.3.9600.16384. [HRESULT = 0x800f0823 - CBS_E_NEW_SERVICING_STACK_REQUIRED]

    Download the latest SSU and install it:

    https://catalog.s.download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2022/09/windows8.1-kb5017398-x64_bfa4a7dce9865df88aa681ec25c82946dd8bbd2e.msu 

    Then try to installs the Windows Updates.

    Hi Tekkie,

    I've encountered the same problem!

    My laptop is of Dell Inspiron 14 3442, which came with Windows 8.1. I upgraded the system to Windows 10, and found it became extremely slow. Therefore, I downgraded it to Windows 8.1 with the original recovery disk (complete reset). Then I found I couldn't install Microsoft visual c++ 2015. It showed the error shown above.

    Error code 0x80240017 means WU_E_NOT_APPLICABLE -

    Operation was not performed because there are no applicable updates.

    When installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64), the update Windows8.1-KB2999226-x64.msu should be installed, but this fails on your system.

    Can you share the CBS folder from the following path please: C:\Windows\logs

    Copy and paste the CBS folder on your desktop, zip it and then upload it on OneDrive or Google Drive and share the link here.
