How do I use the keyboard shortcuts to get to my quick access folders in file explorer in Windows 11? Windows 10 used to allow Alt+F 1, 2,... for the first, second, ... folder in the Quick Access menu.

Thanks.

No this not a bug of any kind an the shortcuts where not previously in Windows 11. This is a design issue. Windows 11 file explorer has been designed to be less productive than Windows 10 file explorer with all the Ribbon icons, and more importantly, their shortcuts removed.

This is not sufficient. Win + E just brings up explorer. The entire Home ribbon with its shortcuts have been removed from file explorer. The quick access keys used for explorer (not Excel or other Office 365 apps) used to be Alt+F, 1 for the first directory, 2 for the second directory, etc.

Did you try all of the fixes I found for this?

Were these shortcuts previously available for Windows 11 and disappeared? Do you know what changes were made about that time - were there Windows Updates? See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem started:

    https://itechhacks.com/system-restore-windows-11/

System Restore is your first line of defense and can take you back to a point before a problem began like a time machine. If it doesn't help then you can undo it. Read about it first in the tutorial above and then try restoring to just before this started. If System Restore is not enabled on C drive do that now so it's available in the future.

If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

    1. Try running the keyboard troubleshooter from Settings > System > Troubleshooters > Additional Troubleshooters.
    2. Reset the keyboard:

(Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro, PC Repair Tool and Reimage ads)

    1. Reprogram shortcut keys in Windows 11:
