Can't stop printing double sided since Windows 11

Since my system upgraded to Windows 11, I can only print double-sided. I've gone into the Printer setup preferences, I've gone through the HP troubleshooter. Even when I choose no double sided within a program as I print, it still prints double-sided.

I have a tax office and I cannot submit returns printed on both sides of the page.

Anyone else having this problem?

Since Windows 11, so many annoying things going on especially with Microsoft Office products, but the printing is the most annoying.

    Hi Cindy,

I think I might know what the problem is.

When I pulled up this model's driver support on HP: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic... I realized HP doesn't have a Windows 11 specific driver for this model. Looks like driver support for this model was only up to Windows 10. With Windows 11, HP just gives you the universal driver instead. It is like a generic version. Ideal for those computers that work with several different models of printers. You can definitely download and install the 64 bit universal driver and see if it works, if not, it is simply no longer supported from the generic version of driver. In this case, it is an incompatible issue.

Thank you for the effort, Emily. That's disappointing, but I'll do what I can.

    Hello Cindy. This is Emily.

I am sorry you are dealing with this printing issue. Printing feature like double sided is controled by the printer's driver software. It is not coming from Windows. Since this is happening after you upgraded to Windows 11, I suspect that the driver might be changed during the upgrade, or you need to install the driver specifically for Windows 11 for your printer instead. Is that something you have already tried?

If not, if you can tell me the HP printer's model, I can help you find the driver and then you can give that a try.

    Thanks!

Thanks! It's an HP Enterprise 506N printer.
