Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Management Service Crashing

I'm running windows 11 on a HP Laptop equipped with a SSD with Optane Memory. For quite some time now, weeks or maybe even months at this point, my laptop has been crashing at random; blue error screen and all. It is happening on nearly a daily basis. I've gone through all the typical troubleshooting:

Checked for updates (including drivers), ran Chkdsk, ran SFC, ran DISM, Checked OS (through HP Support Assistant), ran hardware diagnostics (also HP Support Assistant), scanned with an anti-virus (McAfee), scanned with an anti-malware (Malewarebytes), and scanned with an anti-spyware (SuperAntiSpyware). All have come up clean; no issues detected.

I did a little more looking and stumbled upon the Reliability Monitor. Looking at the logs I see a pattern; right before the system crash is noted it's also noting that the Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Management Service has Stopped Working. Here is the Technical Details of the most recent one:

So the RST Driver never did pop up in update nor Support Assistant. However, I looked at the reliability monitor again and noticed something else peculiar. At the same time as RST stops working & windows crashes, Microsoft GameInput "Successfully reconfigures" itself. Now to my knowledge I don't even use this app but could it be the cause of my system issues? If so what can I do about it? I tried pressing the "Modify" button under apps to see if I could temporarily disable it to see if my system gets better but nothing happens, aside from a momentary "Please Wait" window; it disappears within a few seconds of appearing. Today alone, at this point in time, it's reconfigured itself 9 times. 3 of those times my system has crashed. RST has stopped working 4 of those times. This is under the information section of this event:

Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1863. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.

I think I'll wait and see if it'll pop-up in update or assistant for a bit. According to the info page this update was released 10/24 so I'll wait till at least the end of this month to see if it comes in. This way I know it's correct/compatible for my system.

It should be on Windows Update or the HP support assistant, but often manufacturers can take a bit of time to publish these updates to other platforms. If there is any issue with the update you can always go into Device Manager, select the properties of the device and then roll back. Then you would be no worse off than your current position

I DO see a version 19.5.1.1040, although I'm unsure if it's the correct one, on their website. However I'm a little weary about downloading drivers as it can really mess up the system if incorrect. If it is just an outdated driver would it pop up in the HP Support Assistant, or Windows Update, on it's own? Although annoying I'm not seeing any lasting issues concerning these crashes and I'd rather wait to get it through trusted channels than risk bricking my laptop if I download the wrong thing.

Hi, I'm Elise, and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

It might also be worth checking the Intel website for an updated version of this software, that might not yet be available via the HP support tool.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
