Unable to create a new simple volume from free space on drive.

I am using windows 10 and was trying to extend c drive, without success. The free space on the drive was previously marked as a d drive. I am trying to create a new simple volume using the free space, but am receiving an error message that 'there is not enough space available on the disc(s) to complete this operation'.

You're unable to extend C because there is an extended partition next to it. Delete the extended partition.

    Hi Bernard

    Thanks for your prompt response.

No - I haven't tried to do it just using 80%. I'll give that a try.

    Here's a screen shot:

    Hi Bernard

I have essentially followed these steps on each occasion previously and I still receive the error message.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, can you provide a screenshot of your disk management? moreover, have you tried to just create 80% of the free space? usually, we cannot maximize the free space as it is needing some space for system reserve.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.
