hp display control stopped working

This happens frequently, often several times a week. I have run "repair," to no avail.

I turned it off from the Startups page and haven't observed any difference in the computer's performance.

I could remove and reinstall it, but is it even worth worrying about?

This is how Windows explains the problem:

    Hi Grandpa,
My name is Cindy. I am sorry you are having this problem. I know it is really frustrating. I will do my best to help you with this problem.
Can you tell me any troubleshooting you have already tried?

I'm at a loss for words here. In my OP I wrote that I had employed the Repair option under Apps & Features | Advanced Options and also recognized that there is a Reset and an Uninstall option there too. I am perhaps asking whether either of these options is advisable.
