Hi again. over the years when I have done a big update like (changing the version) or reinstalling Windows 10, it kicks Dolby out saying not compatible with this version of Windows. Actually it was still there this time so I removed it myself. Having said that it still shows in the "Sound box" so confused!! Over the years I have reinstalled it because my sound seems much better with it on! So the question is should I put it back and why does it still show when it has been removed!! confusing!

    Hello Brian how are you?

My pleasure to assist you today.

This bug seems to appear in every major update. It is best to use the Feedback hub to report this bug to Microsoft. I suggest using it since it gives a boost to the audio that we can experience ( I'm also a Dolby Digital user ).

Happy holidays to you too and your family.

Hi, I’m Nicole, an independent advisor and a Windows user like you. I’ll be happy to help you out today.

I will try my best to assist you with this so that you find a satisfactory solution.

Did you already try uninstalling the audio driver ( Realtek Audio ) in the device manager and then restart the system?

The bug might happen since Dolby Digital usually merges with your current audio driver to give better sound.

    Thank you,

    Nicole

Hi Nicole, no I did not try that but have now and it's gone! (thank you) Like I said earlier, this has happened every time I change to new version or like last week "did a in place reinstall of Windows 10". I am still not sure if I should put it back or not!

    Thanks again Nicole, Happy Christmas

Will tick the boxes "problem solved" later!

I am unsure when to click "solved" because it breaks the link is that correct?

    Brian
