What do I do when I'm getting "parameter is incorrect" messages everywhere no matter what I do?

I recently just did a system restore on my laptop which caused a lot of things to go left and I'm unsure why. One of the main issues being that with everything I do there's a notice telling me that the "parameter is incorrect". I can't open my device manager, run admin, open downloads, and many more things. When I find advice online to potentially resolve these issues I still run into "parameter is incorrect" while following the steps. I'm totally frustrated and I can hardly enjoy using my laptop anymore. Any suggestions. Should I bring it to a repair shop or something. I don't know.

    Hi, Stiff-Shine,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

As you have many problems, the best option is to perform the repair upgrade using the Media Creation Tool, this procedure will repair all Windows files, apps, services, and registry keys.

    1-Download the media creation tool.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

2-Run the tool and select 'Upgrade this pc now'

3-Select the option 'Keep all my files and apps'

    4-Then click to update.

If the problem persists or you are not able to perform the repair upgrade, you will need to reinstall Windows. As long as you do not format the C: drive in the Setup, you will not lose your data, but they are moved to another location. After the installation, you can find a folder Windows.old in the root directory of C: drive. All your files are saved there.

Note: This procedure only will keep the personal files, all software and apps need to be reinstalled.

1-Create a USB device with an installation image.

You can create using the media creation tool, download it on this link.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

2-Enter on BIOS/UEFI and change to boot from the USB device.

    3-Click "Install Now".

4- Type your product key or skip it. Usually, your computer will be activated automatically when it's connected to a network if your install the same version of Windows 10 as before.

5- Select the installation type "Custom".

6- Select the C: drive and click Next to proceed. Then, wait patiently until the installation is complete 100%.

The system restoration might not have finished successfully, you can try to run it again using the Windows Recovery Environment.

1-Restart your computer while holding the SHIFT button

2-The Advanced Startup menu will open on the boot.

    3-Go to Troubleshoot.

4-Now, go to Advanced Options > System restore

5-Select a restore point and click on next to restore

Another option that you can try is to factory reset Windows.

1-Restart your computer while holding the SHIFT button

2-The Advanced Startup menu will open on the boot.

    3-Go to Troubleshoot.

4-Now, go to Advanced Options > Reset this PC

5-Then you will be asked what you want to keep and click to reset

If these procedures also fail, you will need another computer to create a bootable USB with the Windows installation and reinstall Windows.

It will not even allow me to open up the media creation tool after I download it. It says "parameters are incorrect". Do you understand my problem now? I really don't know how to resolve this.

I've already reset the PC once so I'm unsure if it'll work as I need it to but I'll try that again if the system restore doesn't work. I feel like these methods are ultimately going to fail and I'll need another computer to reinstall Windows like you mentioned. But thanks for the help!
